The Bojangles’ located at 30 Market Place Dr. in Rocky Mount, Va., has won first place in the company’s coveted ShowBo Awards, after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience.
For earning first place honors in the ShowBo Awards for franchise-operated restaurants, Nancy Valentino, unit director of the Bojangles’ located on Market Place Drive, was awarded $10,000. Valentino is a five-time ShowBo finalist, earning a top three spot for the past three years, and has been with Bojangles’ franchise group Arrington Enterprises for 14 years.
Each year Bojangles’ conducts an extensive evaluation of its more than 350 franchise-operated restaurants to determine the winners of the franchise ShowBo Awards. The assessment for this year’s awards included two rounds of unannounced inspections conducted by a team of two judges at both the lunch and dinner hours. Each judge awarded points to restaurants based on a rigorous set of operating standards, and results for each team were combined for overall scores.
“At Bojangles’, recognizing and celebrating our hard working team members is an important, long-standing tradition,” said Bojangles’ President and CEO Clifton Rutledge. “It is our team members in the restaurants that fire up the ovens each day at 4 a.m., serve our Southern menu items fresh from morning to night and ensure our high standards of customer service are upheld. Our annual ShowBo evaluation is a rigorous process, and we are proud to honor Nancy Valentino and the entire team in Rocky Mount for scoring the highest and to reward them for their accomplishment.”
In addition to the Bojangles’ in Rocky Mount, two other Bojangles’ locations received top three ShowBo recognition. The Bojangles’ located at 49 Lakewatch Center Dr. in Moneta, Va., also operated by franchise group Arrington Enterprises, was awarded third place and Unit Director Glenda earned a cash prize of $5,000. Second place was awarded to the 103 Mossy Creek Bojangles’ in Jefferson City, Tenn., operated by franchise group Boj of Western North Carolina.
